About the author

Tyler Nicholas

Tyler Nicholas is a young Seychellois writer, developer, and youth leader. He writes about the quiet, ordinary moments that turn out to matter most, and about what it means to carry a place, or a person, with you long after you have left them behind.

His writing is drawn from real life: travel, distance, belonging, and the people who change us when we are not expecting to be changed. He believes the smallest details, a box handed over in an airport, a biscuit given away, a hand held for the first time, are often where the truest stories live.

He came to writing the way many people do: with something he did not want to forget. What began as a way of holding on to a single summer became a belief that ordinary lives deserve to be written down, and that memory, once it is put into words, becomes a place you can always return to.

Alongside his writing, Tyler leads a number of initiatives across Seychelles, spanning public service and youth advocacy, community work, and technology.

Some dates are only dates, until someone gives them meaning.
